GUIDELINES FOR CHAIRMEN and SPEAKERS

The time of presentations is 15 minutes followed by 5 minutes discussion If speaker goes over the allotted time limit, one of the Chairmen will invite him/her to kindly conclude the talk, saving time for discussion in order to be in time with following presentations. There will be a timer as a reminder of where a single presenter is in the presentation. A signal will be given to the presenter before the end of presentation. The second signal will be given at the end of the presentation leaving 20 seconds to finish.

CHAIRMEN

Chairmen have the essential role to lead discussion as well as address any questions pertinent to the topics presented by the speakers.

Please note that:

  • The course is not linked to EBOPRAS
  • The course is not linked to the exams, so please do not mention any of the above during your session.

SPEAKERS

Speakers must ensure all presentations remain within the assigned 15 minutes time allocation. Please respect time limits, as precise timing is essential to a successful conference. A 5 minutes discussion will follow each presentation. All speakers are kindly asked to submit their presentation in 16:9 format (Power point or Keynote) to the slide centre at least 1 hour prior to their session.

The use of personal computers is not permitted.

Format of presentations: overview, current state of the art practice – 1st slide: Title and affiliation; 2nd slide: conflict of interest disclosure; 3rd slide: list of topics of your presentation; Last slide: take home messages/conclusions.

Important:

  • Don’t prepare too many slides
  • Don’t put too many topics on each slide
  • Support your statements with bibliography when appropriate
  • Follow and present, if possible, actual guidelines
  • Please note that this is an educational course and your presentations are lessons which be evaluated by the participants.

ABSTRACT

Speakers must send an abstract of their presentation in pdf format two months before the course, to be forwarded to the course participants in due time.

Format of abstracts: 4 – 6 pages, including history/background, overview, state of the art and future perspective.
